The Stuart Fire Department was requested for assistance Friday afternoon.
A commercial fire began in Greenfield at G&H Motorfreight, and the Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department requested the assistance of multiple surrounding fire departments, including Stuart. SFD sent their ladder truck, Tower 23, along with a tanker, a fire engine and a command truck to assist with the blaze. Sources say that Fontanelle Fire and Rescue, Orient Volunteer Fire Department, Adair Fire and Rescue, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Greenfield Police, Adair County Health System, Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency and Greenfield Municipal Utilities also came to assist.
Civilian assistance was also provided in the form of an excavator and end loader that helped allow the multiple emergency vehicles extra access. The building has been deemed a total loss, but no injuries have been reported. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring more information as it becomes available.
