The Stuart Public Library has a weekly event for the community that will continue into 2025.
Librarian Rachel Majerus says that their Cribbage and Coffee hours are from 10am to noon. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there is a strong core group of attendees, but that they also have individuals stop in every once-in-a-while as well, and that there are people of all skill levels that attend too.
“Usually we get a lot of people to come in and say, ‘Hey, I’m a little rusty. I just kinda wanna sit back and watch.’ And before you know it, they’re already participating. It’s a very welcoming bunch, and they’re happy to teach and work with you as you’re learning or relearning how to play the game.”
Majerus mentions that people don’t need to be patrons of the library, or only from Stuart to participate, as there are many who come to play from surrounding communities as well.
