Last year, Perry wrestler, Townes Wilson was one win away from qualifying for state.  The multisport athlete is back for his second season of wrestling and shared what he likes so much about it.  “I think I love the grind you know.  It’s really a physically and mentally demanding sport and I love that part about it and that is really hard is something you don’t get in a lot of other sports and I think the lessons you learn stick with you for the rest of your life.”

The sophomore is 9-7 in the weight class of 157 to begin this year.  He’s hoping to win that last match in Districts something he couldn’t do last year.  “You know I fell short last year of going to the Wells Fargo so obviously I want to make it down there and win a State title.”

Perry wrestling returns to mat on January 9 against Greene County and Nevada.
