With the second half of the school year starting soon for the Greene County School District, the top administrator looks back on how the year has gone so far.

Superintendent Brett Abbotts tells Raccoon Valley Radio that he believes the first half of the 2024-25 school year has been a success.

“We’re making some great positive gains in the classroom. We’ve got a lot of different systems and processes that we’ve been developing in terms of our own professional learning with our teachers. But just again, excited to see how that all comes to fruition in terms of student growth and achievement, which is one of the core reasons that we’re here, obviously.”

Abbotts explains that with some minor changes to the school district’s strategic priorities that he feels the school board always has at the forefront, especially when making decisions at the board level that impacts the district. He adds that the work on all aspects is not yet finished, as he is confident he has all the right pieces in place to continue to move forward and the administrators are top notch and keep everyone on track and on the same page.

Students return from winter break on January 2nd.
