As the one year anniversary of the January 4th Perry High School shooting approaches, an organization in Perry is hosting a community healing service.
The Perry Ministerial Association will be holding a Healing and Hope Service on Saturday in recognition of the one year mark of the tragic shooting. First Christian Church Senior Pastor Andrea Brownlee tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the event will be open to the public for anyone to participate regardless of their faith background. She mentions that people are welcome to come worship, remember loved ones, and visit with others in the community.
Brownlee indicates that the service will be approximately 45 minutes in length, will have refreshments available, and there will be a clergy person on site for people to talk to if they need. The service is taking place at the former Ben Franklin Building, along 2nd Street (1221 2nd Street), in Perry, beginning at 1pm.
