The boys’ basketball team at Greene County High School resumes playing games this Friday in Jefferson vs. Saydel (Des Moines) as part of a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader. At 2-5 to this point of the season the Rams have as many wins already as they totaled a season ago when they finished with a 2-20 mark.

The Rams were 0-3 before picking up back-to-back non-conference victories vs. Panorama (Panora) and Glidden-Ralston in the second week of December. The month ended with HOIAC losses to Nevada and Roland-Story (Story City).

Both wins last season were on the road, as are the pair of wins this season, so when Coach Chris Nelson’s team hosts the Eagles (2-5, 1-4) on Friday night, they’ll be trying to break a home losing streak of 13 games dating back to a win vs. Woodward-Granger on Feb. 13, 2023. Friday’s doubleheader will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
