Perry set the tone early and never looked back Monday night as the Bluejays kept their Heart of Iowa Conference championship hopes alive defeating South Hamilton 82-33.  The second half was played to a continuous clock after Perry sprinted out to a 33-9 first quarter lead.  Gustavo Drahos scored a career high 29 points on 5-14 shooting from three-point land, while Owen Myers thrived on the transition scoring 28 points, including 17 in the first quarter.

Perry used a combination of full court traps and half court zones in creating the high turnover volume.  Perry led 45-24 at halftime, before Drahos scored 12 straight points in the opening few moments of the third quarter to stretch the lead to 35.

Senior Geren Kenney finished with a triple double, scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and dishing out 12 assists.  He also finished with 8 steals.

Andy Schuttler provided muscle inside scoring 6 points and grabbing 6 rebounds, while Drahos added a season high 6 offensive rebounds.

Perry improves to 6-3 on the season and 5-2 in the Heart of Iowa.  The Bluejays return home to the Perry Sports Pavilion and Dan Marburger Court Friday night for a key matchup with unbeaten Grandview Christian.  You can listen to the game on KDLS.
