Tyler Miller, the Greene County farm boy who grew into a 6′ 9″ 340 lbs. offensive tackle for the Iowa State Cyclones is going to use his COVID year of eligibility and play another season of college football. The 2020 Greene County High School graduate has started at offensive tackle the past three seasons for ISU, including the history making 11-3 campaign in 2024 that ended with a win in the Pop-Tarts Bowl in Orlando, FL.
“I will be coming back for a sixth year. Obviously, the structure and the people in Ames make it easy to want to come back and just the people around the program make it worth it, so it will be great!”
Miller and his younger brother Jesse, are the sons of Mark and Jennifer Miller of rural Scranton. Both graduated from Greene County High School in Jefferson, but Tyler went to Paton-Churdan through his sophomore year before transferring. “I always claim Paton-Churdan is where I really grew up. That’s kind of where I spent all my time, so you know the smaller community there you always have people in your corner who support you.”
Jesse Miller was one of our guests on PM Sports Magazine last night and Tyler’s interview will air on the PM Sports Magazine next week on Wednesday, Jan. 15. It airs two days later than normal due to Ram basketball on KG98 Jan. 13 and 14.
