
It was Greene County at West Marshall in State Center last night on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader saw the home teams easily top the Rams. Points were tough to come by for both Greene County teams as the girls fell 71-7 and the boys’ lost 54-21. Both games were heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
The WM girls, ranked ninth in Class 3A, led 48-7 at the half, then blanked the Rams in the final two quarters. The Trojans improved to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the conference while the Rams are now 0-9, 0-6. The Trojans had 24 points from Bella Borgos and 16 by Lily Zahnd. Makenna Ebersole scored five points and Kaycee Pittman had two for the Rams.
Greene County’s boys also struggled scoring and they trialed 24-5 at intermission. Seventeen of the 26 turnovers the Rams had were in the first half. Camden Jacobs had five points to lead the Rams while Nick Madsen was at four and six other Rams scored two points each. Jace Eich led the Trojans with 12 points, all in the second half. DJ Ridout had 11 points with 10 by Lucas Barnes. WM is now 6-3, 5-2, and Greene County fell to 2-7, 0-6.
South Hamilton (Jewel) visits the high school in Jefferson on Friday to take on the Rams on KG98 and streamed on www.racconvalleyradio.com. Coverage starts around 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.
