The Chargers girls faced their first loss of the season in a hard fought game. Junior Becca Littler was named the Crafty’s Coffee Player of the Game for her scrappiness that netted her several rebounds, a few points, and some steals, making her a thorn in the side of the Lions. The Dub P Apparel Elite Fit Play of the Game also included Littler, as she found fellow junior Camdyn Richter wide open down low when a host of Lions players came out to guard Littler on a possible shot, and Richter was able to score.
The Chargers boys also faced a tough match up, coming up tied after the first quarter 11-11. The team was outscored in the second though, and went into halftime down 27-24. AC/GC didn’t hold back in the third and were able to take the lead, heading into the final quarter leading 40-39. The fourth is where things really shone for the Chargers though, as they outscored the Lions 23-11, and finished the game with a final score of 63-50.
The Crafty’s Coffee Player of the Game went to senior Jathan South, who seemed to find a seam through the Lions defense in the lane where they just couldn’t stop him, and put up 35 of the Chargers points. The drive and score from South was considered for Dub P Apparel Elite Fit Play of the game, as South either scored when he drove, or was fouled and sent to the line to score from the charity stripe. Other plays receiving Elite Fit Play of the Game recognition included senior Noah Kading’s shot at the end of the first to tie up the game, and junior Joe Crawford’s deep three to put the Chargers up by ten in the fourth quarter.
