The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

The board awarded several county employees with certificates of appreciation including Secondary Roads Department’s Kip Hutzell with 25 years of service, Dallas County Public Health’s Vivian Aldridge and Adam Jacobs with the Sheriff’s Office for 15 years, and Veteran’s Affair’s Abby Bennet and Halley Clayton, plus Carla Johnson with the Sheriff’s Office each for five years.

Items on the agenda that were approved included pay application number 24 for the Dallas County Administration Building in the amount of $103,458.24, then multiple contracts with the newly proposed Criminal Court Building featuring a financial services contract with Piper Sandler and Company, a bond counsel engagement letter with Ahlers and Cooney P.C., a bond counsel disclosure service contract with Dorsey and Whitney LLP, and accepting an American Institute of Architects document for a Farnsworth Group Professional Services Agreement amendment relating to the evidence storage building and the firing range.

Additional approved items pertained to a 2025 Iowa Communities Assurance Pool insurance renewal as presented, an ambulance purchase between Dallas County Emergency Medical Services and the Lifeline Company for $278,885, a request for Dallas County Engineer Al Miller and Assistant County Engineer Andy Case to attend the 2025 Annual National Association County Engineers Convention in Schaumberg, Illinois from April 14th-17th, and a custodial contract with Nationwide Office Care for a monthly total of $10,644.40. The board then held a discussion about the county budget followed by having budget workshops, with no formal action taken following the discussion.
