The AC/GC Chargers boys wrestling team competed at the West Central Activities Conference Tournament Saturday, taking 3rd place overall.
Angel Martinez was the sole first place ranking, taking top spot in the 165 pound weight class with two wins by decision, and a victory by fall in the 1st place match. Gavin Sloss placed second in the 126 weight class, with two wins by fall and a loss by major decision in the 1st place match. Ty Ganzer also secured a second place finish, with two wins by fall and a loss by fall in the 132 pound 1st place match. Carter Richter was another second place finish for the team, taking his first two matches by fall, and lost by decision in the 1st place match of the 190 weight class.
Ryder Cline recorded a third place finish in the 144 pound weight class, with a bye in the first round, a loss by fall in the semifinals, and a win by fall in the consolation semifinals and in the third place match. Five other Chargers were able to reach the podium, with three fourth place and two fifth place finishes. A list of full results for the team can be found below.
