For the second straight Saturday the Greene County wrestling team took just eight individuals to a large tournament and finished in the upper half. The Rams were sixth among 15 teams at Perry on Saturday after finishing ninth among 19 squads in Atlantic on Jan. 11. On both occasions the Rams had three finalists and no champions.

Finishing second at Perry were sophomore Jaron Jacobs (113), senior Gavyn Winters (120), and sophomore Degan Miller (165). Third place finishers were sophomore Brennan Jacobs (106) and senior Brent Dennhardt (157), and the Rams had seniors Crew Conner (144) and Marcus Ball (215) finish in fourth place. Sophomore Nehemiah Hoyt (175) went 0-2 and did not place. The Rams had six semifinalists (all but Ball and Hoyt) and all six lost to individuals that won their weight classes.

West Delaware (Manchester), ranked seventh in Class 2A, won the team title with 225.5 points, followed by 2A number 2 Sergeant Bluff-Luton had 189. Class 3A number 3 Carlisle was third at 176, then came West Marshall (State Center), eighth in 2A, and Dowling Catholic (West Des Moines), tied for tenth in 3A, had 164 points. Greene County scored 127.5 points.
