The wrestling season is entering it’s final stretch.  The Perry Bluejays will compete in the Heart of Iowa Conference Meet on Friday.  The coed tournament will take place at Roland-Story.  Head Coach, Chris Dardanes, knows he’ll see some of the conference foes again after Friday. “We do have some kids that are expected to have some close matches with some conference kids.   West Marshall is one team that I’m thinking about in my head to where we’re probably going to see some of those guys in the semis or finals of the District Tournament.  You just got to get excited for every match, the next match and and just hopefully you could put a little fear and intimidation into your matches for the next time that you wrestle those guys later on too.”  Greene County is another conference team that is in the same District this season in Humboldt.  District competition is set for February 15.

The Bluejays have struggled as a team this season.  Perry has won just one conference dual this season.  The Bluejays do have a couple of high hopeful at this Friday’s conference meet in Story City.  The Jayettes will also compete in the shrunken HOIC Tournament on the girl’s side.
