unnamed-6-15

Last night the Panorama Panthers basketball team played host to the Ankeny Christian Academy Eagles. The Panthers split the decision, with the Lady Panthers picking up a 45-22 victory while the Panther boys would battle but would fall 88-76.

The girls match up would be a nail bitter, but the Panthers would consistently stay ahead against the Eagles. Panorama would take the lead in the first, claiming a 2 point lead, 14-12. In the second, the Eagles would continue to stay right on the Panthers heals, resulting in a halftime score of 21-18. In the third, the Eagles would begin to retake a one point lead but the Panthers would keep their composure and score 11 points in the third and 11 in the fourth to claim a 43-42 victory as the Eagles would continue to battle but Panorama would come out with the 1 point victory.

In the boys contest, the Eagles would gain the lead in the first and never look back, scoring 21 points while holding the Panther boys to 13. Panorama would continue to fight without giving up, but the Eagles momentum could not be stopped taking the lead going into the halftime break, 47-29. Coming back from the break, the Panthers would fire up in the second half, bringing the final score to a 12 point game after scoring 47 points in the second half but would still unfortunately fall to the Eagles 88-76.

The Panthers are back in action tonight as the Panthers travel to West Central Valley High School for double header basketball action against the Wildcats.
