
The Perry City Council met in regular session on Monday.
The council held a public hearing on a loan and disbursement agreement to borrow money that won’t exceed $30,014,000 to help with the Iowa Street Stormwater Wetland project. The disbursement agreement was then accepted to provide issuance of the Sewer Revenue Bond in the amount of $1,615,000 and an interest rate of $28,900,000 for the taxable revenue bond for the City of Perry.
Other items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution authorizing the signing and accepting the resource enhancement and protection grant for $100,000, a resolution for an employment agreement with Perry Police Chief Jim Archer, a change order for the Iowa Street Stormwater Wetland project for $24,251.62, a pay application for the Stormwater project in the amount of $51,283.76 to Sandstone Management LTD., a pay application for the Frog Creek Restoration of $21,971.51 to Iowa Earth Works, and a pay application for the Willis Avenue Overlay project for $2,389.83 to Des Moines Asphalt and Paving.
Additional approved agenda items pertained to a CDBG Water/Sewer Grant Contract in the amount of $2,445, a drawdown on the CDBG Upper Story Housing Conversion Grant for $56,688 to convert a property on 2nd Street owned by the Nudgers Kerns Managers, LLC, a matching drawdown for $750,000 on the Downtown Housing Grant Agreement on a property on 2nd Street owned by Sheffer Enterprises LLC, and a resolution for an amendment to the local planning and administrative assistance contract with region seven.
More items that were approved during the meeting featured a resolution to appoint Misty Von Behren and Kayla Rothmeyer to the Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency Transportation Advisory Group, a resolution for an urban renewal loan application to provide $10,000 to be made from the City of Perry’s Urban Renewal Revolving Fund to LMP Creative Spaces LLC of a building in the 1200 block of Warford Street for exterior improvements, a resolution relating to an application for the first impressions program with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office, and a resolution to set a public hearing on the proposed vacation of public right-of-way for February 18th at 6pm inside the Clarion Room of the Security Bank Building.
