Last night the West Central Valley Wildcat basketball teams hosted the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks. The Wildcats found great success against Tigershawks pulling off a Wildcat sweep, with the Wildcat girls picking up a 45-22 victory while the Wildcat boys picked up a 44-26 victory.

In the girls contest, West Central Valley and Colfax-Mingo would be neck and neck in the first quarter, with both teams tying at 7 a piece to end the first. In the second, the Wildcat girls would fire up and take the lead, scoring 16 points in the second to claim a 23-14 lead. In the second half, the Wildcat defense would come out firing on all cylinders, holding the Tigerhawks to only 8 points in the entire second half, and only 1 point in the fourth to claim a 45-22 victory against Colfax-Mingo.

For the boys contest, the Wildcats would take a 10 point lead to finish the first quarter holding the Tigerhawks to only 2 points. With the score at 12-2 going into the second quarter, the Wildcats would score 10 points in the second to take the score to 22-10 going into the halftime break. Coming back from the break, the Wildcats would continue to find success, notching in 22 points in the second half while holding the Tigerhawks to 16 points to claim a 44-26 victory for the Wildcats.

Both Wildcat teams look to carry their momentum tonight as the Wildcats host the Panorama Panthers for double header basketball action.
