A deadline is fast approaching that several Greene County 4-H’ers need to be aware of.

Greene County ISU 4-H and Youth Coordinator Samantha Hardaway says market beef weigh-ins must be verified with 4-H Online by Saturday. She points out that this is for any market beef exhibitor that wants to show at the 2025 Greene County Fair or the Iowa State Fair. Hardaway talks about the increasing numbers of youth that are showing this type of livestock.

“Market beef includes our pen of three program which we saw tremendous growth in last year. We had 17 market beef pens of three last year, so anybody that has any sort of market beef, whether it be lead or pen cattle. The February 1st deadline is for you and that goes for anybody across the state of Iowa, that February 1st deadline is the same.”
