The Panora Chamber of Commerce will be holding the first of a new annual event this weekend.
Coordinator Erica Matthies says that their inaugural CommUNITY Gala will be held at The Port on Saturday from 6-9pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Chamber reached out to the community and asked if there were things that they would like to see happen or take part in, and based on the feedback came up with the gala.
“We kind of put our heads together, and decided that as adults, we don’t always get a chance to go out and get dressed up and have a fun time. And so we thought this would be a great way to get the community involved, and the businesses. It is a dress code of casual dress and up. I think some people want to get fancy, some people may be more casual. We’ve set it up to each person how they want to make the day and the evening.”
Matthies mentions that for those who purchased a ticket, there will be food and live music. She adds that in the case it is needed, a rain/snow date of February 8th has also been set.
