Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High Schools will be taking several students to a state competition in early February.
The schools participated in the Iowa High School Speech Association District Large Group Speech Contest this past Saturday at Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School. According to Perry Speech Coach Mandy Meyers, three of the four entries qualified for the state contest with Division-I ratings in the categories of musical theater, group improvisation, and short film. ADM Speech Coach Jacque Seidl shares that 17 of the 21 groups advanced by receiving Division-I ratings.
Perry will travel to Ames High School for the state contest on February 8th, while ADM will be going to Waukee High School that same day. The full list of qualifiers from Perry and ADM can be found below.

Group Improvisation- Seth Borgeson, Xavier Hibbert and Cayden Hay.
