Perry basketball returns to the court tonight in Des Moines.  Perry will take on Heart of Iowa Conference opponent Saydel.

The Jayettes will look for some revenge as Saydel picked up the 52-42 victory on December 17.  Standout senior for the Eagles, Paige Rummans, had 22 points and 22 rebounds.  Coach Klein knows they will have to do a better job against her.  “Well I don’t think we can let her get off to the start that she got off to last time.  We just have to keep her off the boards and not let her penetrate into the lane if we can do that I certainly think that’ll be a plus for us, but if you look around the conference there’s a girl that’s average in 17 points so not really anybody stopping her.”  Perry sits at 4-11 ahead of the match up with 9-8 Saydel.  The Jayettes fell to Roland-Story last Friday 50-15.  Lily Myers had a team high 7 points and 14 rebounds in the loss.

The Bluejays will look to sweep Saydel tonight after winning 63-53 earlier this year.  Perry used a 23-10 fourth quarter to pull away for the victory.  That’s something the Bluejays had to do last Friday in the win over the Norsemen.  Perry used a 19-9 final quarter to outlast Roland-Story.  The Bluejays are tied for third in the HOIC at 7-4 while Saydel sits in sixth at 5-7.  Perry is on record watch as Geren Kenney needs 26 points to reach 1,000 for his career.

Tipoff is set for 6P and KDLS and the Raccoon Valley Radio Sports Network will have the Perry Hy Vee Pregame Show at 5:45P.
