A Red Oak woman was recently sentenced to probation following an investigation by the Jefferson Police Department.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Jennifer Holz pled guilty to a Class D Felony for third degree burglary and a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree theft. She had a five year prison sentence for the felony charge and a one year jail sentence for the misdemeanor suspended and was placed on probation for three years with the Iowa Department of Corrections.
The charges stemmed from a burglary incident on September 8th. Court documents show that Holz and 38-year-old Jesse Nelson had broken into several storage units at a business in Jefferson and through surveillance footage from the business, as well as another company, the vehicle and the suspects were identified.
Holz was also ordered to pay over $700 in fines, surcharges and fees. As per the plea agreement, Holz had the other four felony burglary and four theft misdemeanor charges dismissed. Additionally, last month, Nelson was also sentenced to three years of probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections.
