
Last night the Panorama Panthers traveled to Madrid High School for conference double header basketball action. The Panthers split the decision with the Tigers, with the Panther girls picking up a 39-35 victory while the Tiger boys would pick up a 77-30 win over Panorama.
It would be a battle in the first quarter between the girls as Panorama would keep a one point lead going into the second quarter, with the score at 10-9. In the second, the Panther offense would not be able to find the basket, only scoring 5 points with a 3 made by Gimeno Perez. Coming back from the break, with the score at 20-15, the Panther girls would fight back into the contest, finding themselves down by 4 to start the fourth, scoring 24 points in the second half to defeat Madrid 39-35.
The Panther boys looked at an uphill battle as the Madrid Tigers entered last night’s contest undefeated at 16-0. The Panther offense would battle with all their might, scoring 12 points in the first half. With the score at 42-12 to start the second half, Panorama would continue to battle scoring 18 points in the second half but would fall to Madrid 70-30.
The Panther girls now sit at 11-6 while the Panther boys fall to 2-14. The Panthers return to action tomorrow night as Panorama hosts Exira-EHK with the girls kicking off the action at 6pm.
