
The Nevada Cubs and Greene County Rams met in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball on Tuesday night in Jefferson. The games were heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with the Cubs winning handily in both contests. The girls’ final was 73-20 and the boys was 71-24.
The Nevada girls are 8-10 overall and 8-4 in the conference while the Rams fell to 0-17, 0-12. Sophomore Makenna Ebersole scored all 10 of her points in the second half for the Rams. Seniors Evelyn Anderson had 19 points and Dakota Hendricks 18 for the Cubs. The Rams turned the ball over 32 times to just 10 times for Nevada.
The Cubs are 14-3 in boys’ basketball and 11-1 in the conference while the Rams are 1-11 in the Heart of Iowa and 3-14 on the season. Ram junior Nick Madsen had eight of his 1o points in the fourth quarter. The Cubs had 11 players score points with senior Adam Smeenk leading the way with 20 points and junior Drake Hinson adding 11.
The Rams travel to Story City this Friday for a girl/boy twin bill vs. Roland-Story on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
