
Coach Kirk Davis’ Greene County wrestling team was in action in Anita on Tuesday night for a pair of non-conference dual meets vs. Class 1A opponents. The Rams are now 8-7 on the season after defeating CAM 35-0 and losing to Manson-Northwest Webster by a 54-23 final.
Forfeits were much more plentiful than matches with the Rams having just six contested matched and winning all six. Greene County was 4-0 vs. CAM and 2-0 vs. M-NW. Rams going 2-0 on the mat were sophomore Brennan Jacobs at 106 lbs. with a fall and a technical fall, and senior Crew Conner with a pair of falls at 144 lbs. Sophomore Jaron Jacobs at 113 won by technical fall and senior Brent Dennhardt at 165 won by fall.
The Rams were missing several starters due to illness and injury including two of their 2024 returning State Tournament qualifiers in senior Gavyn Winters (120) and sophomore Degan Miller (165).
Greene County goes to Guthrie Center on Saturday, Feb. 1 to wrestle in the ACGC Invitational at 9:30 a.m.
