Several students from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School will be performing in a musical competition tomorrow.

ADM is heading to West Des Moines Valley High School to participate in a jazz choir competition. According to Vocal Director Daniel Novotney, ADM is putting on two shows of “Good Vibes,” and “Amp.” He highlights that the Good Vibes theme revolves around students learning the mechanics of proper microphone technique, healthy vocal production, and musical balance in a small ensemble. For Amp, he shares that students learn basic music theory and aural training, as well as vocal improvisation.

Novotney describes that 31 students total are going with 14 from Good Vibes and 17 in Amp. He says Good Vibes will perform first at 9:40am with Amp to follow at 11am. ADM will be facing other schools featuring Valley, Dallas Center-Grimes, and Maquoketa. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults. To purchase tickets, click here.
