A Redfield man was recently taken into custody following an incident that occurred earlier this month.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an alleged assault involving a weapon in Redfield in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 25th. Deputies arrived on scene, and a male victim was spotted suffering several injuries, and affirmed that 68-year-old Kevin Mains assaulted him. The Sheriff’s Office states that deputies did not locate Mains on their initial attempt but launched a follow up investigation and found out that Mains was staying with a relative across the state. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office partnered with Scott County Sheriff’s Office to locate and arrest Mains in Princeton, Iowa.

Sources say that during the arrest, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, and then was charged with two Class B Felonies for  possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and first degree burglary, a Class C Felony for willful injury, and a Class D Felony of failure to affix a drug tax stamp. Mains was booked into the Dallas County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
