The Dallas County Hospital recently announced its financial and economic impacts on the area it serves.

According to a press release, DCH was able to provide $1 million in charity care as the county hospital. The organization invested over $20,000 from the 70-year gala proceeds towards the surgery center expansion, and purchased new equipment for the state of the art computed tomography scanner, security enhancements, and poured money into the rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary services.

According to the non-profit organization, DCH awarded 12 scholarships to support high school and college students pursuing nursing careers and recruited assistance to fill overnight registered nurse positions. The hospital emphasizes that this year’s fundraising will be focusing on buying a new electronic sign to put on Highway 141 to update the public about new providers, services lines, and events to help patients understand the available care locally.
