The AC/GC Chargers hosted the Interstate 35 Roadrunners Thursday night, and finished with a pair of victories.

The girls game started out slow, with the Chargers leading 10-2 after the first quarter, then heading into halftime up 15-10. A big third quarter boosted AC/GC to a 34-10 lead, and in the fourth quarter they pulled away even more thanks to a slew of steals, and finished with the 52-25 victory.

The Crafty’s Coffee and Gifts Player of the Game went to Shay Lemke, who led the team in steals on a night where they came away with 27. The Dub P Apparel Elite Fit Play of the Game went to the defense in the third and fourth quarters, where a majority of the points and steals came from.

The boys game started close, with the Chargers leading 17-14 to end the first quarter, and after a short stint trailing in the second, the team came back and went into halftime up 33-26. A strong third quarter put AC/GC up 60-42, and another strong quarter in the fourth put the team up 81-53 for the victory.

The Crafty’s Coffee and Gifts Player of the Game went to Joe Crawford, who had several good steals, and 18 points on the night, including four three pointers. The Elite Fit Play of the Game went to the Chargers offensive presence in the second half, with Crawford and Tommy Skram both putting up a host of three pointers. The Chargers girls are 16-1 on the season, and the boys are 15-1. The teams return to action Tuesday as they host the West Central Valley Wildcats for Senior Night.
