The Raccoon River Wrestling Team is preparing for their final meet prior to the state tournament.

RRW will be welcoming in seven teams into Waukee for the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Regional competition tonight, starting at 5pm. The team has had an incredible season being named the back to back champions at The Clash National Duals in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and finished with a 19-0 record (5-0 in conference) for the 2024-25 duals season. Head Coach James Biscoglia is anticipating good matches, and says it’s business as usual for RRW.

“It’s going to be more of the same. This team just feeds so well off of each other in the practice room, and so I’ve told them since day one they were great. I knew that coming into it and the first two weeks of practice really solidified that for me. So we’re not going to change very much, we’re just going to keep doing what we’ve been doing, and hopefully put the best product on the mat that we’re able.”

Some of the girls participating tonight include Katie Biscoglia, Calista Rodish, Reese Baxter, Naomi Templeman, Bella Bruins, Grace Rinehart, Natalie Keller, and Edie Collins. The meet will feature Dallas Center-Grimes, Des Moines Public Schools, Gilbert, Johnston, Norwalk, Urbandale, and Valley.
