The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council entered a public hearing regarding the status of grant funds for a Community Development Building Grant for upper story apartments. A representative from Region XII Council of Governments reviewed that the $550,000 grant is being used for the creation of three upper level rental units in buildings on the square, with expenditures to date totaling $437,178.90, of which $331,904 has been requested from the CDBG funds. The representative’s report also noted that construction is roughly 59 percent finished, pushing the project to be substantially complete by April 30th, which is well ahead of the initial projected finish date of February 28, 2026.
The Council then approved a resolution approving a downtown facade rebate grant for 113 East Main Street in the amount of $10,000, a resolution approving a three year customer support contract renewal with Ziegler Power Systems for the water plant generator, and amended the city’s legal representation to include John Twillman of Bump Law Firm.
