The 48th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey (BRR) was another successful year as there were over 1,100 riders on Saturday.

According to Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti, 1,153 riders participated in the 24 mile trek from Perry to Rippey and back. She details that 749 of those registered with the ride donations, and 144 registered on the day of. The temperature for the group start at 10am was high 30s to low 40s with close to a 20-mile per hour wind gust, making conditions colder. Pasutti has been apart of the yearly tradition for seven years and tells Raccoon Valley Radio that her favorite part is witnessing the huge amount of support.

“Seeing so many people here, all coming out to enjoy this ride (and) tradition, coming out to support the community, (and) all the organizations that are involved with it, they love going to Rippey and getting their food and lunch there, but just seeing familiar faces year to year.”

Pasutti says that there were no injuries during the ride, with the overall atmosphere was incredible, and that the weather satisfied riders who prefer it a bit colder for the winter event.
