A Dexter man was recently taken into custody after allegedly attempting to escape law enforcement, this past Friday.

According to court documents, a Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was trying to conduct a traffic stop for a vehicle without license plates. The deputy attempted to stop the 2021 Dodge Charger and a chase ensued with speeds reaching over 120 miles per hour. Court documents show that 34-year-old Kyle Waddell drove back to his home and stopped the vehicle.

Following the chase ending, court documents show that deputies had a subsequent search and found a white crystalline substance weighing approximately 410 grams of methamphetamine. Waddell’s driver’s license was barred and was in possession of a shotgun as a convicted felon. He was arrested and charged with a Class B Felony for a controlled substance violation manufacture to deliver methamphetamine, two Class D Felonies for failure to affix drug stamp and  dominion or control of a firearm by a felon, and an aggravated misdemeanor for driving while barred. Waddell is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail without bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
