
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Basketball teams were in action on Monday as they blanked Indianola in both games.
ADM girls won 53-36, while the boys routed to a 73-54 victory. In the girls game, the Tigers got out to a fast 14-2 start before the Indians came roaring back on a 9-0 run and trailed 14-11 at the end of one. The scoring drought continued in the second through the first five minutes of the quarter, but ADM scored seven late points to take a 21-14 advantage into the halftime locker room. Both offenses caught consistency in the third quarter as the Tigers and Indians combined for 28 points, and ADM led 37-26 heading into the fourth. The final frame saw the Tigers keep their distance as they went on to win 53-36.
Indianola was led in scoring by senior Zoey Belt, who had 11 points and it was sophomore Hadley Erickson adding seven. For ADM, sophomore Alexis Maxwell was the high player with 18 points, then it was freshman Ella Subbert who had 15, and senior Kelli Stork’s 12 points. The Tigers improve to 12-7 overall, while the Indians falls to 6-12.
In the boys game, it was a back and forth first quarter, but ADM took a 18-13 lead into the second. In that quarter, the Tigers and Indians each scored 16 points as ADM led slightly 34-29 at the halftime break. The Tigers stretched the lead out in the third quarter thanks to big baskets from junior Hudson Lorensen as ADM extended it to a 59-45 advantage at the end of three. In the fourth quarter, the teams continue to flow with the offenses, but the Tigers got it done 73-54.
The leading scorer for Indianola was sophomore George Blake, who had 13 points, plus sophomore Easton McGraw who contributed with 11. ADM was charged by Lorensen’s 32 (13-15 from the free throw line) and then junior Trey Bryte pitching in with 13 points. The Indians drop to 4-11 overall, and the Tigers get to 13-4 on the season.
Indianola will be hosting Dallas Center-Grimes on Friday, while ADM will be in Adel taking on Gilbert.
