The City of Perry is planning to continue to improve the roadways as part of the main objective in 2025.

According to Public Works Director Josh Wuebker, a big road project that was completed last year was the concrete overlay of Willis Avenue, where city officials repaved the road to smooth it out for drivers. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Public Works Superintendent Mike Landals drove around Perry to identify the really rough roads, and says they’re hoping to smooth out more areas this year.

“You’re driving down the road and it’s nice and then ‘boom’ you hit a spot. We’re trying to fix those spots, and that’s what last year, 750 yards of concrete was fixed in those boom spots. That’s our main goal is just to keep hammering that stuff out.”

Wuebker notes that Landals found crucial spots north and south of Willis Avenue and west of 3rd Street. He mentions that once the temperatures become consistently warmer, city crews will begin repairing those spots.
