Day 2 of the Iowa Girls State Wrestling Tournament began this morning.  Semifinal matches were wrestled as well as the consolation bracket.  Three local athletes advanced to championship matches Katie Biscoglia (105) and Calista Rodish (130) both of Raccoon River-Northwest will compete in their title matches tonight in 2A.  1A will feature one girl, Haley Glade (155) of Earlham, from our listening area in action in a first place bout.

Losses in the semifinal will see Cassidy McCallister (100) of Raccoon River-Northwest, Naomi Templeman (140) of Raccoon River-Northwest, Halley Beaudet (190) of Dallas Center-Grimes, and Reese Baxter (235) of Raccoon River-Northwest compete for third in 2A.  In 1A, third place matches will feature Hannah Brandhorst (100) of Woodward-Granger, Sunshine Casey (135) of Woodward-Granger, and Lauren Rodgers (145) of Woodward-Granger.

One of the fifth place matches tonight in 2A will feature two local girls.  Natalie Keller of Raccoon River-Northwest and Josephine Bond of Dallas Center-Grimes will wrestle against each other in the weight class of 115.
