A new organization in the Perry community was officially welcomed with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday.
The Perry Chamber of Commerce held their first ribbon cutting of 2025 at Misfits and More, 1221 2nd Street. According to partial owner Ashlee McIlhon, the store brings a little bit of everything with clothes, toys, knick knacks, and more. She owns the store with her family members and explained that they always had a vision to have a business, but after McIlhon visited a similar store, she decided on creating an organization that was identical in Perry. McIlhon is super appreciative of both her family and the community for the support.
“I have an amazing crew behind me. My mom, my dad, my husband over there Jack (McIlhon), but we could have not done it without my sister, my brother, our kids, my aunt. I can go on and on with a list of people of how many people have helped us. The community has been amazing. You guys have supported us already, so thank you all so so much.”
McIlhon notes that it’s hard to narrow down one phrase to describe the store, and invites people to stop in to check out all they have to offer. Misfits and More is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays from 10am-7pm, then Sundays are from 10am-5pm, and closed Tuesdays through Thursdays. All of the owners of the store include Ashlee and Jack McIlhon, Jennifer Ray Nelson, Linda Collins Howard and Tom Howard.
