unnamed-6-15

On Friday night the Panorama Panthers traveled to Des Moines Christian High School for double header basketball action against the Lions. The Panthers battled hard, but the Lions cleaned up at home, sweeping the Panthers winning both matches. The Panther girls fall to 10-10 after falling 65-35 to the Panthers while the Panorama boys now sit at 3-17 after falling 80-24 to Des Moines Christian.

In the girls contest, the Panthers found themselves down by 9 at the end of the first scoring 11 points. With the score at 20-11 in favor of the Lions, Des Moines Christian would lock in defensively, holding the Panthers to only 4 points bringing the halftime score to 37-15. Coming back in the third, the Panthers would begin to fire up, scoring 11 points in the third but the Lions defense would wake up in the fourth, holding the Panthers to only 9 in the fourth for a final score of 65-35 in favor of the Lions.

In the boys contest, the Panther boys would have their best quarter in the first, scoring 13 points but the Lions offense would be on a tear, scoring 28 points in the first to claim a 28-13 lead. From here on, the Panthers would not seem to have an answer for the Lions defense, being held to 5 in the second, and 6 in the entire second half for a final score of 80-24 falling to the Lions.

The Panther basketball teams are back in action on Tuesday as Panorama travels to Ogden High School for double header action against the Bulldogs. The girls go to battle first with tip off scheduled for 6pm.
