A Redfield man was recently taken into custody following an alleged home invasion that involved physical abuse in late January.
According to court documents, a Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call in Redfield relating to assault and burglary on January 25th. Court documents show that the victim told the deputy that he woke up from sleeping in a shed to someone knocking on the exterior door, and when he opened the door, the victim claimed he was struck multiple times by an object as he fell back onto the shed. The victim stated in the criminal complaint that he was struck on his head, hands, legs, and torso.
According to court documents, the alleged attacker was identified as 68-year-old Kevin Mains, who was accompanied by two other individuals. Court documents further state that Mains allegedly told the victim that the abuse would be worse the next time he saw him.
The deputy conducted an initial search for Mains and the other assailants, but could not locate them. The victim had visible lacerations to the head. An arrest warrant was issued on January 28th charging Mains with a Class B Felony for first degree burglary and a Class D Felony for willful injury-causing bodily injury, along with a no contact order with the victim. Mains was arrested on February 9th and was booked and remains in the Dallas County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
