The Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) released the selections for All-State, and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn is amongst the schools attending.
Perry High School took three performances to the Large Group State Speech Contest at Ames High School this past Saturday, while ADM was at Waukee High School with 17 performances. According to Perry Speech Coach Mandy Meyers, musical theater and group improvisation each earned a Division-II rating, with the short film receiving a Division-I rating, but had no selections for All-State. On ADM’s side, the school had 13 of their 17 performances walk away with Division-I rating.
Of those, three performances were nominated to All-State with group improvisation, readers theatre, and choral reading. ADM’s group improv and readers theatre are non-performing, while the school’s choral reading performance for Camp S’more Adventure will take the stage. The All-State Festival will be held on February 22nd at Iowa State University in Ames.
