The Greene County and Paton-Churdan Speech Teams performed well at the recently held Iowa High School Speech Association State Large Group Speech Contest on Saturday.

According to the Greene County High School Speech Team, Group Improv with Randa Linberg, Lucy Vander Linden, Savannah Lansman and Ava Binkley received a Division I-rating, while Choral Reading and Readers Theater each received a Division II-rating. Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Amanda Tasler tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Choral Reading had a Division II-rating.

Unfortunately, none of the entries at the state contest were nominated for the All-State Large Group Festival; so the students can look forward to the District Individual Events Speech Contest on March 1st.
