
The high school basketball regular season ended last night for the Paton-Churdan teams in Woodbine. The Tigers swept the Rolling Valley Activities Conference girl/boy doubleheader by scores of 62-22 for girls and 98-47 for boys.
The P-C girls are 1-18 while the Tigers improved to 15-5. The Rockets trailed 43-10 at halftime and they were led in scoring by a pair of sophomores. Alivya Smith had nine points and Kaliyah Minnihan added eight. Taylor Hoefer led Woodbine with 21 points. The P-C girls play at Fort Dodge St. Edmond vs. the Gaels on Thursday night to begin the Class 1A postseason.
Woodbine’s boys are 17-2 and P-C has a 6-14 record. Sophomore Trevon Keely had 20 points for the Rockets with 11 from junior Phoenix Hartman and nine by Kinnick Steimel. Unofficially, Hartman had 11 rebounds with seven from Keely, and sophomore Bryce Stephenson five rebounds.Woodbine made 14 shots from three-point range and went 20 of 28 from the free throw line.
