One Perry basketball duo just received a big honor.  Geren Kenney and Owen Myers have been performing at a high level on the hardwood and in the classroom.  The seniors were named to the 2025 Boys Academic All-state team.  The guys are just 2 of 22 named to this list.  A total of 147 applicants were submitted.  Coach, David Morris said “This is one of the hardest awards to win.”  Owen Myers said he is a student before an athlete.  “I’m always a student athlete.  The student comes first and winning these it really shows.  Pays off, I guess.”

The award is given out by the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association.  

The two Bluejays will be honored during the State Tournament in Des Moines on Friday, March 14.
