The high school wrestling regular and dual meet seasons have ended for the Greene County Rams and all that remains is the postseason. Coach Kirk Davis’ squad hosted a quadrangular on Tuesday night in Jefferson with AGWSR (Ackley), Webster City, and Woodward-Granger. It was the last appearance on the home mat for Greene County seniors the Rams went 1-2 in the three dual meets to finish with a 9-9 record.

First up was Woodward-Granger with the Hawks winning 42-36. Next was Webster City and the Lynx won 54-30, followed by a Greene County victory over AGWSR 42-30. There were multiple forfeits by the Rams in all three meets, but the Rams went 12-6 in the contested matches.

Rams going 3-0 on the night were Brennan Jacobs (106), Jaron Jacobs (113), Crew Conner (144), Brent Dennhardt (157), and Degan Miller (165).

Greene County goes to Humboldt on Friday  for a Class 2A District tournament starting at 10 a.m. The tournament was originally set for Saturday, but has been moved up a day due to the weather forecast for Saturday.

The top two finishers in each of the 14 weight classes at Humboldt advance to Des Moines Feb. 19-22 and the Traditional State Tournament. Joining the Rams and host Wildcats in Humboldt are Perry, North Polk (Alleman), West Marshall (State Center), Eagle Grove, Gilbert, and Southeast Valley (Gowrie).
