Raccoon River Northwest Head Coach James Biscoglia credits his seniors that led the squad during the past season.

RRNW, who is the combination of Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Van Meter, Waukee, and Waukee Northwest High Schools, is bringing back the majority of the team in the 2025-26 season, but will see some individuals graduate, with ADM’s Reese Baxter and Kelsey Greenslade, plus Waukee Northwest’s Naomi Templeman. Biscoglia calls Templeman one of the staples on the team as she moved to Iowa from Virginia and was able to get a third place finish for 140 pounds at the Iowa High School Girls Athletic Union State Championships. Baxter also garnered third in the 235 pound weight class to end her high school career. Biscoglia tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it was an outstanding year for Baxter.

“She had a breakout year. She wrestled great last year. She got to the state tournament, and really didn’t have (a) very good state tournament. So, she hit the reset button this year (and) really honed down on some technical issues with regard to choice of technique that she was using at the state tournament, and she wrestled nearly a flawless state tournament performance and deserved that third place medal.”

Although ADM’s Greenslade didn’t advance to state, Biscoglia adds that she brought lots of joy to the team and was always willing to do whatever was asked of her. He is incredibly proud of all of them and appreciates the dedication they brought to the sport of wrestling.
