Mother Nature is affecting the District dates for boys wrestling.  Perry travels to Humboldt for their District site.  The 2A competition was originally scheduled for Saturday will now take place on Friday.  Eight schools will be in attendance, including: Greene County, North Polk, West Marshall, Eagle Grove, Gilbert, and Southeast Valley.  The first place and runner up in each bracket will advance to Wells Fargo Arena next week.

The Bluejays haven’t wrestled since Saturday, February 1.  Coach Dardanes says the rest from competitions has been welcomed.  “We’re just getting healthier and we’re trying to just bring some new excitement everyday we go into practice.”

Last year, Perry sent 2 to State.  Coach Dardanes wants to keep the momentum of having State qualifiers.  “Definitely trying to get somebody to represent Perry at the State Tournament.  Trying to keep the standard of somewhat high.”

Districts begin tomorrow morning at 10A in Humboldt.
