University of Northern Iowa track and field standout Carter Morton from Jefferson long jumped and triple jumped in Chicago recently. Multiple past Olympians were in the field as well as collegians in Chicago at Gately Park Track.

Morton was second in Friday’s long jump at 24′ 4-1/4″, then fourth on Saturday in the triple jump at 48′ 9″. It was Morton’s first triple jump of the season, which qualifies him to compete in that event in the upcoming Missouri Valley Conference meet.

Carter is the son of Chad and Deb Morton of Jefferson and he was the 2020 Greene County High School Male Ram of the Year.
