Yesterday the West Central Valley Wildcats traveled to Underwood High School for district wrestling action. With only the top two place-winners advancing to the state tournament, West Central Valley sends two to the Wells Fargo Arena as Nathan Bentler placed 2nd at 165 and Zach Teague placed first to advance at 285.

Bentler would win his first two matches to advance to the first place match up where he would fall to Treynor Cose of Coon Rapids-Bayard by fall in 2:45. Bentler would bounce back to punch his ticket to the state tournament defeating Camron Zellmer of Woodbury Central by fall in 3:03.

Zach Teague would be on a tear for West Central Valley winning all of his matches by fall. Teague would defeat Vinny Zappia of Missouri Valley by fall in 2:00 to claim 1st and punch his ticket to the state tournament.

West Central Valley sends two to the Wells Fargo Arena for the boys state wrestling tournament which begins on Wednesday, February 19th through the 22nd.
