It’s National FFA Week and for the Greene County Chapter, there are several ranges of years and experiences, and every member has their story of why they became part of FFA.

High School Freshman Hanna Fouch talks about why she joined FFA, starting as young as she could.

“It’s a leadership program and I was really interested in that. I grew up on a farm and I joined in seventh grade. It just opens so many opportunities for me later in life and I just thought that meeting people and doing different things and discovering different things is a great thing for me in the future.”

Sophomore Eli Glawe describes his reasons for joining the Greene County FFA Chapter.

“Well I joined FFA because I really like agriculture and I’ve been around our family farm from a young age, so I’ve always kind of enjoyed it. But there’s a lot more to it than that, and even people that necessarily don’t like the same things as I do, there’s just so many different aspects of it, so many opportunities, and you can learn a lot.”

Sophomore Dakota Ostrander adds that anyone who is in 7th through 12th grade should join FFA because it is a life changing experience, especially if members participate in contests, and it allows you to improve yourself as a person. National FFA Week is February 15th through 22nd.
