District 12 Senator Amy Sinclair
A bill related to hands-free driving is making its way through the Senate.
Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair says that the bill has been making steady progress, but that there is also already a hands-free bill in effect. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about it.
“So that’s already the law in Iowa, but it’s really hard to enforce. The Senate has passed a hands-free driving bill in the past, largely because the data proves that distracted driving, and most often when you’re messing with a device, that’s when accidents happen, and that’s when lives are lost and property is damaged.”
Sinclair mentions that another reason that hands-free driving is important, is because the easy distractions need to be tuned out, as a driver’s main focus should always be getting from “Point A” to “Point B” as safely as possible.
